"30 Days of Notice Period" - #10

#10 Songs you listen to when you are happy, sad, bored, hyped and mad

I haven't been able to listen to my favorites or "go to" songs for a while now because they make me reminisce, and that is something I am running away from right now. Only if that kind of running made you lose weight. And this is a bit of a problem for me because I love music. I always have something on in the background. I am listening to something, about 90% of my awake time. These days all I have been listening is to is Prateek Kuhad, The Local train, and covers by Karan Nawani. These songs are completely new to me hence, no thinking, just listening. And mind you they are really nice! I mean really good! Go listen to Raat Raazi, Dil Beparvah, Choo lo, and Aaftab. Really great songs!

Getting to the point, let me start listing down the songs that I listen to when I am in the moods mentioned. When I am mad I normally listen to "Just go to hell" from the movie Dear Zindagi. Actually, this one is a bit of an overlap, I also listen to this when I am sad. Singing out loud along with the song helps me handle my frustration.

Songs I listen to when I am sad vary with the reason for my sadness. If I am missing a certain someone, the coffee drinking gujju I listen to "Channa Mereya" from the movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. When I am missing my college and ohh goa, my love, I listen to "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran and "Main rahoon ya na rahoon" by Gulshan Kumar. These are two songs that remind of some of the best times of my life! Ohh and a weird one. A while back, when I was sad about one of my friends going across the ocean to study (I am yet to name him, hmm let's see, the one who I would eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, nah just kidding) , I would listen to "Apun Jaisa Tapori" from Munna Bhai MBBS. just for these lines,
"Sapna tuta hai, toh dil kabhi jalta hai!
haa thoda dard hua, par chalta hai!"

When I am happy, I listen to everything. There is no one particular song! Bring anything my way! And I think same goes for songs when I am bored. I have no particular go-to song in these two scenarios.

When I am hyped, I normally try to listen to anything with a fast pace and then slowly bring myself down to soft and slow songs and eventually calm myself down. This is something that I do unconsciously.

I have been raised on old songs or Kishore Kumar and RD Burman, so music is an essential part of my day and who I am!!
