Moments of Impact

These are moments that change our life in ways we can't even imagine. They can significant and insignificant at the same time. They could be something as huge as a promotion or an unfortunate accident or as small as losing a girl's number or a traffic jam making you late or one of the countless moments we go through in our daily life.

For those of you who have seen the movie "The Vow", are familiar with the concept of "Moments of Impact". As a matter of fact the whole movie is based on such moments. For those of you who are wondering what this is, here it is. Well basically, these are events or incidents that change the course of our life and in turn define who we are. These moments need not be gigantic or huge, but they impact they have definitely is. You might not even notice how even the smallest of decisions changed your life and led you to where you are today. There is no way to know which of the moments in our life are the ones. No one is standing near the street holding up a big sign saying "Hey! This is the moment", you just have to figure it out for yourself or maybe even not.

Think of it like this, say you are on a trek or an expedition where you don't have a predefined route, you just go where the road takes you. You come across a crossroad and you decide to go one way and this happens every time you come across multiple paths. For the time-being you might think it is just one road, but that one road changes the entire journey bit by bit. These are how moments of impact.

"A moment of impact has potential for change, has ripple effects far beyond what we can predict"

Now that I look back, I can identify a handful of such moments, and it amazes me to see how all of them changed me life. For me one such moment was when I was studying in the library about  2.5 years ago and someone asked me for a pen. We started talking and haven't stopped since. Now that I look back on that day, I realize that that was a big moment, a moment of impact.
You can't control these moments or what they do to you, you just have to live them and let them by. Hoping that they will take you to your destination and that they make for an interesting journey to the end.
